Naiara joined the lab as a postdoctoral research fellow in May 2016 and was promoted to Instructor in April 2021. She completed her graduate studies at the Center for Applied Medical Research (Pamplona, Spain) in 2015 obtaining the Extraordinary Doctoral Award. During her PhD, she studied molecular mechanisms of metastasis and also worked on the identification of oncogenic vulnerabilities that are specific to KRAS-mutant tumors. Her research in the Cichowski lab is focused on understanding mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies and developing effective combinatorial therapeutic strategies for breast and pancreatic cancers. She loves to travel and explore new destinations whenever she gets a break from the lab.
